The season 4 finale is a whole rant in its own right... There's little point to showing things from a different perspective if your conclusion ends up being "And that's why our heroes are totally awesome after all and you're just jealous!"
And then, oddly, season 5 seemed to prove the historians right by showing Sheridan and the Alliance blundering from one crisis to the next... It wouldn't have required much changes to play up the Churchill parallels that already existed with Sheridan - brilliant war-time leader, but last person you want running things in peace...
