It's funny. You can go your whole life intellectually knowing people are the same all over, but nothing makes it hit home like being stuck in a shopping centre in a Muslim country filled with overly-cheery Eid al-Fitr music and tacky decorations and thinking “Bloody hell, Ramadan just started, is this going to go on all month?!”
