Timing

Man, I hate 90 minute long lectures. Two hour lectures I don't have a problem with - the lecturer knows some people will have another class immediately afterward, so they structure their lecture to fit into the time allotted. Ninety minute lectures, though... lecturers that know everyone's got at least half an hour to kill afterward seem to make no effort to structure their lectures, so you end up with sprawling disorganised hundred minute plus lectures with about quarter of an hour of filler that should have gone on the reading list or been saved for tutorial discussions.

Slaver's Rebellion

Doing a unit on the American Civil War this semester - part of it's covering media representations of the war and post-reconstruction Civil War narratives. Thinking I might do my essay on that. Anyone got any recommendations for good novels or movies set in or immediately after the war?
