Observations In the Bookshop
Jun. 17th, 2010 02:52 pm- Hey, I understand that the entire market for action figures at this point is adult geeks who need poseable figures of every single character from everything they've ever watched, but even so... is there really a demand for "Saw 2" action figures?
- You would think by now, editions of "I, Robot" would be being printed again that don't have Will Smith's face on the cover.
- Is anyone actually buying Stephanie Meyer's non-Twilight book? Every bookshop I've been into recently has huge piles of "The Host" for sale, but I never see anyone reading it on the train or anywhere else.
- I realise bookstores don't want to have wasted space, but I found it most disconcerting when the Sci-Fi/Fantasy section abruptly segued into the Romance section halfway through a shelf. At least fill in the rest of the shelf with vampire novels or something, so there's a transition zone!
