I Suppose I Shouldn't Give them Ideas...
Jul. 30th, 2010 01:29 pmAlright, so there's a live action Yogi Bear movie being made, and I'm not even going to link to the trailer because it makes my soul hurt to look at it. Proof that pop culture is continuing to devour itself at an unheard-of rate, I suppose. Does anyone actually like live-action versions of cartoons? The attempts to make CGI characters look furry always goes past uncanny valley and into 'kill-on-sight' territory...
Anyway, it reminded me of something that's bugging me - why isn't anyone working on a movie of Wacky Racers?! I mean, everything is being remade - why not the only Hanna-Barbera cartoon that was actually half-way decent? I mean, yes, obviously, a movie would be god-awful, but I still think it deserves a movie way more than Yogi Bear or Alvin and the Chipmunks or Marmaduke or any of the other crap being shoveled out...
