12 - What's your favourite funny moment?

‘Ode to Spot’ is a strong contender, but if I had to pick one, it would be the ‘explanation’ of differences between TOS and TNG Klingons in “Trials and Tribble-ations”. Actually, pretty much all of that episode, now that I think about it.

It is a long story. We do not discuss it with outsiders.

(I’ve been told Enterprise actually did provide an explanation, which to me is proof enough that I made the right decision to stop watching that series…)

Kobayashi Maru Solution

Been playing Star Trek Online PvP a little recently, to test out my brand new refit Intrepid-class ship.

Was playing a standard arena map, five ships vs five ships. Still getting used to how fast the Intrepid turns compared to my old Sovereign-class cruiser, and I hadn’t noticed that I’d accidently diverted all power to my engines instead of to weapons systems. So there I am, speeding towards the enemy formation, miles ahead of everyone else on my team. I sigh as I’m alerted that I’ve entered weapons range, and prepare to go down fighting…

And three of the enemy ships suddenly jump to warp, abandoning the game.

I’m going to choose to believe the appearance of my ship fearlessly charging without waiting for backup struck terror into my opponent’s hearts, leaving them with no choice but to flee…
