I did not realise that was Hugh! Thanks, as always, for sharing your insights! This series is not what I expected but I'm enjoying it.

it was a little jarring compared to previous depictions and descriptions of Federation society.

YES. That jumped out to me right away. She lives...in a trailer? No Starfleet pension? No Federation taking care of their own? Hmmm.
