Yeah, if Bella eventually went, "Hey, this guy is controlling and creepy and wants to eat me" and cut his head off, that would be great. It would fit well with the mind0control death baby horror novel.
I highly recommend My Soul to Keep by Tananarive Due if you'd rather read that book, actually. (Not the death baby part. The seemingly-perfect but really creepy immortal husband part.) The central question of the book is, "Are there any good monsters?"
