Saw this meme, can't sleep, thought I'd give it a go for fShepard/Liara from Mass Effect:
Meme: Take a person or ship and write 10 different categories of fic, in as few words as possible.
1. Angst
2. Alternate universe
3. Crack
4. Future fic
5. First Time
6. Fluff
7. Humor
8. Hurt/Comfort
9. Smut
10. UST (Unresolved Sexual Tension)
1 – Angst
She hadn’t received an update on Project Lazarus in weeks. The last message had said they were encountering problems. Miranda had warned her they might not be able to restore Shepard after all-
They have to, Liara repeated to herself, burying herself back in her work rather than think about the possibility.
2 - AU
Shepard stared at the broken body a moment longer, her face a mask of control. Damnit, Liara, why didn’t you get to the escape pod? Finally she turned back to the dark-haired woman.
“You say you can revive her? Fine, I’ll pay your price. I’ll… I’ll work for Cerberus.”
3 - Crack
“It is not possible.” Liara repeated.
“Apparently, it is.” Dr. Chakwas replied. “I can’t make any sense of it either, but the Commander is definitely pregnant. And the child is Asari.”
4 - Future
“A Spectre, and at only a hundred and fifty. Your mother-“ There was a lump in Liara’s throat as she embraced her daughter. “Your mother would have been so proud of you.”
5 - First Time
Liara almost collapsed as she entered the infirmary, confused images still running through her head. Experiencing the Prothean beacon message burned into Shepard’s brain was almost enough to overwhelm her-
And I’d do it again to touch her mind like that, she thought, wondering if the human woman realised why she’d been so eager to try and help her interpret the message.
6 - Fluff
There were nights when the last of the meld’s connections had not yet faded before they fell asleep, nights when she caught fragments of Liara’s dreams. It amused her how often she featured in them, and the ways the Asari woman’s subconscious chose to portray her.
7 - Humor
“It’s their version of dirty limericks.”
“It’s a book of love poetry. Shepard, I studied this for decades-“
“But I’ve got an intuitive knowledge of the Prothean language. Liara, it’s smut.”
Liara sighed. “Shepard, please stop translating things for me. Leave me at least a few illusions about the Protheans.”
8 - Hurt/Comfort
It was a week after they’d left Noveria that it finally sunk in that her mother was dead. Shepard had asked her a question, something about her home, and it had finally hit her that the next time she visited Thessia, the house would be empty.
Shepard saw the look in her eyes, and no words passed between them as she held her in a tight embrace. The silence was broken only by muffled sobs.
9 - Smut
“By the Goddess.” Liara gasped. To be touched like that, to feel her body through the meld, her pleasure reflected and multiplied as they both experienced the other’s ecstasy and desire-
“Again?” The human woman whispered, and Liara nodded, too breathless to reply.
10 - UST
She blushed as she realised her description of Asari culture had degenerated into little more than a discussion of their method of reproduction. Admittedly, that was the first thing most aliens wanted to know about, but she realised that hadn’t actually been what Shepard had originally asked her about.
She tried not to stare as she looked at the human woman, trying to interpret her alien expression, wondering if Shepard had noticed how often this happened when they talked.
