Ha! Take that, Netherlands! Move over, Scandinavia! Get out of here, San Francisco! There's a new Sodom and Gomorrah - the island continent of the damned, Australia!

That's right, American hate-monger Fred Phelps is at it again, this time venting his fury against Australia! Our godless nation has finally attracted his attention following the death of Heath Ledger, and clearly the fact that our soil brought forth an actor who once played a gay character is proof of our depravity! Phelps has gone so far as to issue press releases, informing the world that "This filthy little island in the Pacific is a hotbed of sodomy, child sex tours, and every other abominable thing obnoxious to God." and that "they have outlawed
genuine Gospel preaching for so long now, that the nation is irreversibly doomed and damned like unto Gibeah." He's also promised to unveil a new website in the near future, godhatesaustralia.com, which will be the latest entry to his online empire of hatred, alongside godhatesfags.com, americaisdoomed.com, and godhatescanada.com!

Now, obviously, I'm very proud that Australia's contributions towards the destruction of morality are finally being recognised, and I hope we continue to be recognised as a global beacon of satanism and depravity by unhinged loons the world over!

For some reason, the phrase "obnoxious to God" makes me snigger. As though the Australians were prone to playing music too loudly when God is trying to sleep, or dumping trash on His lawn or something.

I imagine Phelps-ian theology works similarly to H.P. Lovecraft's cosmology - everybody's damned, and there's not a great deal you can do about it...

Granted, there are differences - Cthulhu or the Great Old Ones are far more sympathetic objects of worship that Phelps's interpretation of God... :)
