Handy hint: The opportunity to take a unit on the history of witchcraft should not be passed up. Not only is it a facinating area, but it also gives you one of the few legtimate excuses to use the phrases "malevolent sorcery", "the infamous Maleus Maleficarum" AND "blasphemous parody" all in the one essay!

Sounds like tons of fun. I generally find the history of the occult more interesting than the occult itself. I got myself a book on the history of grimoires recently. Not much of it has been read so far, but it does provide a fascinating perspective on the history of religion.

Yeah, it's been a fun semester - bit unfocused as a unit, but if you're dealing with witchcraft, you kind of have to deal with heresy, with blood libels, with the Reformation... and you can't assume everyone's familiar with Christian theology of the late middle ages, so we got a coupel of weeks on that...
